Kenny BumperSticker

Local trucking company, ARL, will decal its fleet of 400 tractor-trailers in memory of Lance Corporal Patrick Kenny. Company officials will unveil the decal at an intimate ceremony with Kenny’s family and Senator Pippy, Monday, January 30, at 9 a.m.

Kenny, an Emsworth, Pa., native, was killed in action in Iraq on October 6, 2005. A graduate of Avonworth High School, Kenny was captain of the football team his senior year and left for boot camp immediately following his last class in June 2003 to fulfill a lifelong dream of joining the military.

"We were all inspired by the story of a loving son, caring brother, reassuring friend and proud marine", said Ron Faherty, president of ARL. Decaling our trucks seemed like a very visual way to honor Pat for his service to our country.

Over the last few months, ARL has become involved in what we believe to be a very worthwhile cause. You may remember reading about this last month in an email about Lance Corporal Patrick Kenny, a local soldier killed in action last October in Iraq. We created truck decals and bumper stickers to memorialize Patrick and other fallen heroes. The response we received from the local community, families of soldiers, and some of you has had a profound effect on all of us.

We have decided to create a new program to bring together other transportation companies from around the country with other families of fallen soldiers as to honor them with “rolling memorials”. We are also seeking support from the ATA and the Pennsylvania Trucking Association.

ARL will also donate 100% of the proceeds from the sale of a bumper sticker honoring Kenny to the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund. To show your support, email your order to Cindy@arlnetwork.com. Cost is $5 each or three for $10.
